Sajid Rahman is an experienced board director, global executive and investor. He is Founder and Managing Partner of MyAsiaVC, which invests through different fund vehicles, from early to growth stage. MyAsiaVC has backed more than 800 startups, including more than 20 unicorns.
He is Vice-Chair of the ICANN Board and Chair of its Board Finance Committee, having previously chaired its Board Audit Committee. He is an Independent Director of Renata PLC, where he brings audit and finance committee leadership, and Chairman of Bloom Energy (Bangladesh). He is a former board member of two publicly listed banks: Standard Chartered Bank Gambia and South Bangla Agriculture and Commerce Bank (SBAC Bank), where he chaired the Board Audit Committee and the Nomination & Remuneration Committee.
As an operator, he was Chief Executive Officer of Telenor Health, building a large-scale digital healthcare business in emerging markets, and earlier Managing Director of Consumer Banking at Standard Chartered Bank, leading large-scale banking businesses across Indonesia, West Africa and Bangladesh. He holds executive and board credentials from Harvard Business School, INSEAD (International Directors Programme), London Business School and Oxford, along with the FT Non-Executive Director Diploma (UK), and a B.Com and M.Com (First Class, First Position) from the University of Dhaka. He is based in Jakarta.
